Willis Earl Brown, of Pender County, North Carolina, passed away on September 14, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born on July 10, 1950, in Pender County, a place that remained part of the story of his life.

Willis will be remembered as a funny man with the spirit of an old soul, someone whose presence carried both warmth and character. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and in the years that followed, he worked in landscaping. He was also a devoted member of New Pike Creek AME Church of Burgaw, North Carolina.

He found joy in simple and lasting pleasures. Fishing and hunting were among the interests that brought him happiness, and he created memories that will stay with those who knew him through the tradition of barbequing hogs. These were the kinds of moments that gathered people close and reflected the heart of the man they loved.

A visitation will be held on September 18, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 810 W Wilmington St, Burgaw, NC 28425.
