With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Willie James Simpson, 82, of Rocky Point, NC, who departed this life on June 8, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington, NC.

Mr. Simpson was the devoted husband of Katie Simpson, a loving father to Yolanda Simpson, Jocelyn Simpson, and William Simpson and, Thurman Marlow and a proud grandfather to Justin Simpson, Craig Montgomery Jr., Tyler L. Edwards, Marisela Simpson, and Dominic Simpson. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren.

Willie was a man of quiet strength, deep wisdom, and unwavering kindness. He leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. His life was a shining example of love, faith, and dedication to family and community.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Middle District Missionary Baptist Association, Inc., located at 1821 NC Hwy 53 West, Burgaw, NC 28425.

Though he is no longer with us in body, the legacy of his love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
