Mr. Willie Lloyd Messick, age 66, of Willard, North Carolina, transitioned peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, DonnieMae Messick; his daughters, Doreen Messick and Jasmine Messick; his caring sisters, Clara Mae Messick and Joyce Ann Messick; his aunts, Annie Newton, Lenora Nicholson, and Vilinda Fennell along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Affectionately known as "Doy", "Uncle Doy" and "Sup", he was loved for his joyful spirit and his gift for making others laugh. He had a passion for horses—riding and caring for them brought him great happiness. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time cruising along Pineywoods Road in his side-by-side utility vehicle. His laughter, kindness, and easygoing nature left lasting impressions on everyone who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to bring smiles and warmth to the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Celebration of life service will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel 810 West Wilmington Street Burgaw, NC 28425.

All viewing will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday, November 8, 2025 during the hour of 1:00pm to 1:50pm at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Messick Family Cemetery, Pineywoods Road Willard, NC.
