Retired Staff Sergeant Willie Calmes, age 93, of Atkinson, North Carolina, formerly of Mississippi peacefully Joined Heaven's Army on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Brian Center and Rehabilitation, Wallace, NC. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaree Wright Calmes of Atkinson, NC; four children; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grands; two great-great-grands and a host of other special relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 9, 2020 at New Zion A.M.E. Church 7960 Slocum Trail, Atkinson, NC 28421. Military Honors will follow the service.

Viewing for relatives and friends will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Dunn Funeral Home 810 West Wilmington Street, Burgaw, NC  28425.

Final Homegoing service will be held in his hometown of Mississippi at 11:00am Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Crawford, Mississippi. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Crawford, Mississippi.
