Mr. William Edward Merritt, age 75 affectionately known as "Peanut" and "Doc" peacefully crossed over into a life of everlasting with his family by his side.

Family left to cherish Peanut's memories are his mother, Mrs. Lillie S. Merritt, children, Sonia Pratt, Stacey Merritt, Anthea Young, Chenille Hough, Reese Hough and Anthony Hough; siblings, Chenita Merritt, Sylvester Merritt and Karen Malloy and a host of family and friends.

Celebration of life service will be held 1:00pm Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Moore's Creek Missionary Baptist Church 60 Minuteman Road Currie, NC. Interment will follow in the Moore's Creek M.B.C. Cemetery.

Viewing for relatives and friends will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, March 15, 2024 at Dunn Funeral Home 810 West Wilmington, St. Burgaw, NC 28425.
