Vivian Walker Minatee, born on July 2, 1932, in Pender County, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on December 9, 2025, at the residence of her daughter in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.
As a devoted homemaker, Vivian dedicated her life to her family and nurturing her household. Her commitment to her role as a mother and caretaker was evident to all who knew her, and her warm spirit touched the lives of many. Vivian will be remembered not only for her unwavering dedication to her family but also for the warmth and kindness she extended to friends and neighbors alike.
Vivian is survived by her loving children, Gwendolyn (Harvey) Simpson, Olivette Simpson, Pamela (James) Wayne, Caroline R. Simpson, Walter (Jacquelyn) Simmons, Torrence (Ericka) Minatee. Her siblings Delores Tyree, Esther (James) Brinson, and Carl (Janet) Walker. Along with a host of relatives and friends who will carry forward through her spirit and values.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Homegoing service will be held 12:00 noon Monday, December 15, 2025, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church 4134 Piney Woods Road, Willard, NC 28478.
Interment will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery
Joel Walker Road, Willard, NC, 28478.
VIEWING
Viewing will take place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, during the hours of 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel 810 West Wilmington Street, Burgaw, NC 28425.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Mrs. Vivian's home, 3012 Horse Branch Road, Willard, NC 28478, beginning Sunday during the hours of 1:00 - 3:00 Pm.
Her passing marks the end of a remarkable journey, one that was filled with joy, laughter, and an abundance of love. Vivian Walker Minatee will be dearly missed by her family, and her memory will be cherished always.
