Theresa Corbett McIntyre, born on September 30, 1935, in Robeson County, North Carolina, departed this life on January 8, 2026, at the Northchase Nursing Facility in Wilmington, NC. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend whose spirit and generosity touched many lives throughout her time among us.

Theresa's life was characterized by her deep commitment to family and community. She is survived by her cherished children, Harvey McIntyre, Louis McIntyre, Percy McIntyre, and Beverly McIntyre, along with a myriad of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward. She held a special place in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, forming bonds that transcended generations.

In her leisure, Theresa found joy in a variety of pursuits. Her talents were many; she enjoyed sewing and crafting, often creating handmade treasures that were gifts of love to her family and friends. Gardening was another passion, where she found solace and beauty in nurturing plants and flowers. Above all, Theresa was dedicated to community service. She loved speaking to people and helping them whenever she could, fostering a sense of connection and kindness in her interactions.

A homegoing service to honor Theresa’s memory will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Middle District Baptist Association located at 1821 NC Highway 53, Burgaw, NC 28425. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing scheduled for the same day, between 12:30 and 2:00 PM. Following the service, interment will take place at New Zion AME Church Cemetery in Atkinson, NC.

Theresa Corbett McIntyre leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and service that will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, and she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family and friends.
