Mr. Thelton Stringfield of Willard,NC passed away on November 04 2016.

Thelton Stringfield was born on Dec. 3, 1931, to Thomas Stringfield and Essie Highsmith Stringfield, in Willard, N.C. He was born into a family of five brothers and one sister: Johnnie Stringfield, Ronnie Stringfield, Thomas William Stringfield, David Highsmith, Jimmie Stringfield and Annie Hue Tensie Stringfield DeVane. Thelton was educated in the Sampson County School System and continued his education at a trade school to become an appliance engineer.
Thelton moved to the Washington, D.C. area and was employed for a period of time until he became self-employed and opened Stringfield Delivery Service. Not only could he deliver appliances, he could also repair them. Whenever Thelton set his mind on learning new things to add to his trade, not only was he determined to achieve these goals, he mastered them as well. These goals included using farm equipment, performing electrical wiring services, plumbing and building drain fields.
Thelton lived in Silver Spring, Md. until 1994, when he moved back home to Willard, N.C., to assist in the care of his loving mother, Essie Highsmith Stringfield. He was a member of Roseville Missionary Baptist Church. He loved God and served his church and the community.
Thelton married Scuownyuier Grear on Aug. 24, 1986. He was the last sibling of all of his brothers and sisters. He passed away on Nov. 4, 2016, at his residence.
Those left to cherish his memory, including his loving wife Scuownyuier, are three children, LaVerne Stringfield, Thelton, Jr. (Shannon) Stringfield and Sheila Stringfield; three grandchildren, Jordan, Thelton Thomas (Trey) and Ava Grace; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation for relatives and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Dunn Funeral Home, Burgaw. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Roseville Missionary Baptist Church, Willard, N.C. Interment will follow at the Stringfield Cemetery.
