With hearts full of love and memories, we mourn the passing and celebrate the life of Mrs. Teleatha Sidbury, née McKoy, who departed this world on August 9, 2026, at Novant Scotts Hill Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on February 9, 1934, in the gentle embrace of Brunswick County, NC, Teleatha graced this world with an energy and warmth that left a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Teleatha’s presence was truly something special, fun-loving, open-hearted, and remarkably sociable, she lived her life surrounded by friends, laughter, and the kind of connection that only someone with a remarkable spirit could cultivate. Her days were filled with simple joys, never happier than when sharing a bowl of her favorite ice cream or letting out a cheer for basketball, the sport that brought out her playful competitive side. She had a deep appreciation for travel, letting her adventurous soul explore new places and experiences that would become cherished stories to share with her loved ones.

Those who encountered Teleatha soon discovered her remarkable gift for friendship; she was known for being surrounded by many companions who felt truly seen and valued by her. Hers was a heart that remained open and giving, lighting up gatherings and creating family wherever she went.

Her passing leaves a space in our lives that cannot be filled, yet her legacy endures in the joyful moments she created and the friendships she fostered. Family, friends, and all whose lives were brightened by Teleatha are invited to honor her memory at a visitation on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dunn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 810 W Wilmington St, Burgaw, NC 28425. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Union Bethel A.M.E., 20676 U.S. 17, Hampstead, NC 28443. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sealawn Memorial Park in Hampstead, NC.
