Obituary

Sherry Lee, lovingly known as Dulce, departed this world on December 10, 2025, at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 29, 1955, in Pender County, and her journey through life was marked by a warmth and kindness that touched everyone she met. Sherry's personality radiated love and care, earning her the affectionate nickname of "Channel 3 News," as she was always in the know and ready to lend an ear or a helping hand.

Sherry was the beloved wife of Elwood Lee, a nurturing mother to her three sons, Demos, Raphel, and Elwood Ej, and she cherished her role as a grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Her family meant everything to her, and her legacy will be carried on through those she loved most.

A true culinary artist, Sherry was often called upon to make her famous potato salad at family gatherings and community events. It was a dish made not just with ingredients, but with love, perfectly capturing her nurturing spirit. Her presence at these events created bonds that brought relatives and friends together, showcasing her gift for fostering connection.

As her family prepared to say their goodbyes, they invite all who knew and loved her to join them in celebrating her remarkable life. A visitation will be held at Dunn Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Burgaw, NC, on December 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at First Missionary Baptist Church in Chinquapin, NC, on December 20, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, with interment rites following at Pickett Family Cemetery.

Sherry Lee's impact on the lives of those around her will not be forgotten; her loving nature and cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
