Ronnie M. Henry, born January 31, 1950, passed away on September 7, 2026. He will be remembered with love by those closest to him and by the many people whose lives were touched by his presence and friendship. His passing brings deep sorrow to family and friends, while also calling to mind a life that left lasting memories and meaningful connections.
Mr. Henry found joy in simple and enduring pleasures. He loved to fish and treasured spending time with his family. He never met a stranger, and his warm, welcoming nature made others feel at ease in his company. He was also known for his gift for storytelling, sharing conversation and recollections in a way that drew people in. Those who knew him appreciated the depth of his knowledge, especially when it came to plants, forestry, and fishing, subjects he understood well and spoke about with enthusiasm.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Smith, and her husband, James, and by his brother, Isaac Henry. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends, all of whom will continue to cherish his memory. In their love, support, and shared remembrance, they carry forward the place he held in the lives of so many.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Rose Green Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 11, Kelly, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the Rosa Green Church Cemetery.
He loved to fish and treasured spending time with his family.
Viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Dunn Funeral Home, 810 West Wilmington Street, Burgaw, North Carolina 28425.
Family and friends will be received at the home of Mr. Henry from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
