Reverend Arnold Moore, age 90, of Maple Hill, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at his residence. Born on August 20, 1935, Reverend Moore dedicated his life to service and faith, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Nancy P. Moore, with whom he shared many years of devotion and partnership. Together, they cultivated a life rooted in love, faith, and community service.
Reverend Moore’s profound impact will be remembered not only through his family but also through his distinguished career. As a civil service retiree from Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base, he exemplified commitment and responsibility throughout his professional life. His passion for faith and devotion to his community led him to become a renowned retired Pastor of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in the Southern District of North Carolina. His sermons inspired countless individuals, fostering a sense of hope and unity in the community.
A celebration of Reverend Moore's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church 801 Webbtown Road, Maple Hill, NC 28454. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM, allowing family and friends to pay their respects. Following the service, interment will take place in the Moore Family Cemetery, a final resting place deeply meaningful to the family.
Reverend Arnold Moore will be remembered as a pillar of strength, a beacon of hope, and a dedicated servant of both God and his community. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
