With heartfelt reverence, on behalf of the family of Mrs. Reva Mae Kea Capers we announce her transition into eternal peace on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the age of 80. A beloved resident of Currie, North Carolina, Mrs. Capers departed this life at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. She was the devoted wife of the late Henry Capers and, though she did not bear children of her own, she lovingly embraced the role of mother to Darrien Johnson, Etta Kea, Ebony Kea, and Chasity Kea. Her nurturing spirit extended to many, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion and grace. Mrs. Capers is survived by her cherished siblings: Gloria Kea, Myrtis Lynn Manigo, Frederick Kea, Raynard Kea, Michael Odell Kea, and Charles Kea, along with a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

To honor her life and legacy, the family welcomes guests to Mrs. Capers' residence beginning Tuesday, October 14, 2025, between the hours of 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM for those who wish to pay their respects in a quiet and personal setting.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, located at 810 W Wilmington Street, Burgaw, NC 28425.

A Celebration of Life service will follow on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Canetuck Missionary Baptist Church, 5922 Canetuck Road, Currie, NC 28435.

In lieu of standing sprays, the family kindly requests that floral tributes be limited to potted and vase arrangements, reflecting Mrs. Capers' enduring love for beauty and growth.
