Rev. Mack Denkins, a devoted servant of the Lord and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at Bladen East Health and Rehabilitation in Elizabethtown. Born on October 30, 1957, in Bladen County, Rev. Denkins lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and love for those around him.

Known as an anointed man of God, Rev. Denkins found profound joy and solace in reading and studying the Bible, a practice that deeply enriched his spiritual journey. His commitment to his faith was evident in all aspects of his life, inspiring those who knew him to walk with greater purpose and compassion.

Rev. Denkins is survived by his cherished wife, Kay Brown Denkins, with whom he shared many treasured years of companionship and love. Together, they raised a family that stands as a testament to his character and values. He leaves behind his children: Styvette Denkins and her friend William Blanks, Shereka Ray and her husband Travis, Antonia Denkins and her friend Michael Watlington, and Natekka Ferguson and her husband Andre. His legacy extends to six devoted grandchildren—Destiny Moore and her husband Jeffery, Aniyah McKenzie, Ayrian Ray, Jaelan Herring, Jordan Ferguson, and Noah Ferguson—along with one beloved great-grandchild, Serenity McKenzie.

The bonds of family were a source of strength and joy for Rev. Denkins, and he is also survived by two brothers, Leo Denkins and his wife Helen, and David Earl Denkins with his wife Judy. His three sisters—Eunice Pridgen, Gracie Sowers, and Vera Moreland with her husband Lawrence—also remember him fondly. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were touched by his warm spirit and steadfast devotion.

A celebration of Rev. Mack Denkins’s life will be held 1:00pm on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1320 Natmore Road, Kelly, NC 28448. Following the service, interment will take place in the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at a viewing on Sunday, May 17, 2026, during the hours 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, 810 West Wilmington Street, Burgaw, NC 28425.

Rev. Mack Denkins’s legacy is one of faithfulness, love, and dedication—a life well-lived in the service of God and family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
