Mrs. Irene Lamont, born Irene Joseph on January 8, 1941, passed away on September 29, 2026, at her residence. She leaves behind a life centered on family, strength, and the steady presence of a true matriarch whose love reached across generations.

Mrs. Lamont will be remembered as a very active woman whose spirit helped shape the family around her. She had a passion for writing and for collectors’ items, interests that reflected both her curiosity and her care for the things that held meaning. Among the memories her loved ones will continue to treasure is the simple joy of watching her game shows, a familiar and comforting part of time spent with her. Above all, her proudest accomplishment was her family, who stood at the heart of her life and remain her lasting legacy.

She is survived by her children: daughter Juanita Hickman; sons Rodney Lamont, Musa Lamont, Ali Lamont, Kaseem Lamont, William Lamont, and Yusuf Lamont; and daughters Saudia Lamont, Medina Lamont, Sahara Lamont, Tynetta Lamont, Jamilah Lamont, and Aurelia Lamont. Together, her children, their siblings, and their grandchildren carry forward the bonds of a large and loving family that Mrs. Lamont helped nurture through the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Lamont; her son, Abdul Lamont; her daughter, Wanda Lamont; and two sisters and one brother.

She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Rene, Donna, Fatimah, Shaheed, Shameka, Johnathan, Steven, Byron, Brian, Malik, John, Kaseem, Aisha, Sayyid, Yusef, Sharazade, Keidra, Kahlil, Taki, Rodney, Na'iliah, Eric, Ahmanni, Kareem, Aurelia, Asia, Hassan, Isis, Aliyah, Alise, DeMarcus, Aleasha, Talib, Samira, Omar, Hakim, Tanisha, Maurice, Nyiema, Maya, Khala, Xavior, Muhammad, Amir, Tanisha, Medina, Muhammad, Abdul, Majaylah, Raheem, Khalid, Tynetta, Jania, Alton, Tykeem, Keyshia, and Yusef, along with the thirty one great grandchildren who shared in her love and guidance. Through them, the warmth of her presence will continue to be felt for years to come.

Mrs. Irene Lamont’s life was a testament to devotion, resilience, and family love. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew her.
