Gladys Williams, born Gladys Corbett, entered eternal rest peacefully on September 19, 2026, in Kernersville, North Carolina, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 9, 1932, in Pender County, North Carolina. In her final days, Gladys was lovingly cared for at her son’s home in Kernersville surrounded by family while receiving home hospice. A woman of deep faith and steady love, known too for her quick wit and a determined spirit that carried her through every challenge.

In her working years, Gladys was employed as a machine operator for Silverline Window Company. Outside of work, she found great joy in cooking, which was another way she expressed her love and care for her family and those fortunate enough to gather around her table.

Following a serious accident that deeply impacted her life, Gladys made a vow to use her voice in praise to God. From that time forward, she faithfully sang praises to the Lord, turning a difficult chapter in her life into a testimony of faith, gratitude, and perseverance. Her singing became an important part of her spiritual journey and a source of encouragement and inspiration to those around her.

Gladys was a devoted member of Trinity Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church, where her faith was an important part of both her life and her service to others. She faithfully attended weekly Bible study and served in the church’s prison ministry, extending encouragement, compassion, and the message of God’s love to those who were incarcerated.

Gladys lived with an open door and open heart always caring for others. She served for several years as a foster parent in the State of New Jersey, opening her home to children who needed love, stability, and care. Through that journey, she welcomed two sons, Azariah Kage and Elijah Kage, into her family through adoption and lovingly raised them as her own. Her willingness to open both her home and her heart reflected the generous spirit for which she was known throughout her life.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Williams; her son, Tommy Kage; and her grandsons, Maurice Kage and Hassan William Jones. In keeping with her wishing she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, NJ. 

Among Gladys’s greatest blessings and proudest accomplishments were her children and the generations that followed. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Theodore Corbett; her daughters, Cynthia Jones, Tonya Kage, and Gloria Kage; her sons, Azariah Kage and Elijah Kage; her grandchildren, Tressa Corbett, Francelina Kage, Alatef Perry, Sheila Jones, and Precious Yolanda Kage; a host of great-grandchildren; and many other relatives, extended family members, church family, and friends whose lives were touched by her love.

Gladys Williams leaves a legacy of faith, family, service, and generosity. Her strength and compassion lives on in the family that she raised and in the many lives she welcomed along the way. As loved ones remember her, may they take comfort in a life rooted in prayer, service, and love. Her family will remember her strength, her giving spirit, her devotion to God and the love that held generations together. 

May she rest peacefully in God's eternal care, reunited with those who went before her.
