Mr. Archie J Hansley, Sr., of Pender County, North Carolina, passed away at his home on October 8, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on July 13, 1950, in Pender County, he lived with steady purpose, quiet strength, and deep devotion to the people and places he loved.

Mr. Hansley built a life marked by work, faith, and family. He was a master Pipe Fitter and managed a Steam Trap program for a chemical manufacturing company, carrying himself with the kind of skill, discipline, and dependability that earned respect. He was also a Mason with White Oak Lodge 263. Those who knew him knew a man who was humble, calm, and non-confrontational, someone whose presence brought steadiness and whose character spoke louder than words.

His faith was not something he wore lightly; it was something he lived. Mr. Hansley was a faithful member of Moores Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in many roles over the years, including Deacon, Usher, Trustee, and member of the Male Choir. He gave of himself where he was needed, and his service to the church reflected a life anchored in conviction and commitment.

Outside of his work and church service, he found joy in the simple and enduring pleasures of life. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, and hunting. These were not just pastimes, but part of the rhythm of a life lived close to the land, close to community, and close to the people he cared for most.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Hansley, whose memory remained part of his life’s story.

Among all his accomplishments, the one he held highest was raising his family. That legacy remains strong in the lives of those who survive him. He leaves behind his children, Michael McIntyre, Archie Hansley, Jr., and Rodney Hansley, Sr., Lyonda Hansley and, Jason Hansley. He also leaves brothers and sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and the entire Currie community, all of whom carry forward the memory of his example, his kindness, and his unwavering love.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 810 W Wilmington St, Burgaw, NC 28425. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Moores Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 60 Minuteman Road, Currie, NC 28435. Burial will take place after the service at Moores Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Archie J Hansley, Sr. leaves behind the witness of a life lived with dignity, service, and heart. He stood as a man of faith, a worker of rare skill, a family man of deep commitment, and a quiet pillar in his community. His memory will remain a source of strength for all who knew and loved him.
