M'Kiyah Nelson-Kenan, age 32, of Brooklyn, NY, began her transition from her earthly home on December 22, 2024.

While the family mourns her absence, her memories live on through her Surviving Family members: Leongrina Nelson Swann (Lawrence) and Elearn Kenan, Jr. (Kim). Her twin, Maliq Nelson Kenan; Stepbrothers Cameron Connor and Marquez Swann; Godchild – Brooklynn Matheney; Grandparents - Terina and Arthur Lee Maebry, Sr. and Bettie Wells Kenan; Aunts - Teri Nelson Durant (Rob), Hajar Nelson (Ma'ani), Tia Gunn (Craig), Jamilia Maebry and her "Aunty-Mommy" Rabab Nelson; Uncles – Uzziah Nelson, Sr., Arthur Lee Maebry, Jr., Marvin Williams and Rashad Crews; Godsisters – Candace Latimer, Ashleigh Williams-Jackson and Madonna Hazelwood; a host of Great Aunts, Great Uncles and four generations of cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held on January 7, 2025, 12:00 PM at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel 810 West Wilmington Street Burgaw North Carolina 28425. Immediately following the service, we will reconvene at St. Mark Cemetery in Long Creek, NC where committal rights will be held.
