Mrs. Mary Lois Holmes Kenan , age 84, of Chinquapin quietly completed the final sentence of her life's story and received her rest on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 while at Vidant Duplin Hospital located in Kenansville, North Carolina. She is a former educator of Duplin County and wife of the late Willie "Bill" Kenan, Jr. and mother of JoAnn Villines and Willie Kenan, III.

A Celebration of Life Service will convene at 2:00p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at First Missionary Baptist Church of Chinquapin - 3882 S. NC Hwy. 50 Chinquapin, NC 28521. Interment will immediately follow in the Holmes-Kenan Memorial Cemetery located in Chinquapin, NC.

Viewing & Visitation for family and friends will be held 1:00p.m. - 1:50p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at First Missionary Baptist Church of Chinquapin - 3882 S. NC Hwy. 50 Chinquapin, NC 28521 prior to the 2:00p.m. Celebration of Life Service.
