Mary Carolyn Cornell, 65, passed away on January 8, 2025, in Durham, NC, surrounded by her loving children. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Kawania McDuffie, her son, Roedonther Cornell, Jr., and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, 810 W Wilmington Street, Burgaw, NC, 28425, on January 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

Mary was a devoted mother who loved to cook and play horseshoes while listening to music. Her favorite flower was the carnation, a symbol of her vibrant and caring nature.

Mary's warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
