In Loving Memory of Martha Evelyn Simpson Eakins
March 23, 1945 - February 27, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Evelyn Simpson Eakins, 79, formerly of Currie, NC. She departed this life on February 27, 2025, at The Laurels of Pender in Burgaw, NC.

Martha was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her nurturing spirit and kind heart touched all who knew her. She leaves behind cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of her only daughter, Betty Simpson, and her grandchildren, Tyrone Simpson, Monte Simpson, Quameka Gause, and Cierra Montgomery. Martha was also a beloved sister to Lillie Merritt, Sophia Williams, Eleanora Hansley, and Patricia Wint, along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel 810 W Wilmington St, Burgaw, NC, 28425.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Moore's Creek Missionary Baptist Church, located at 60 Minuteman Road, Currie, NC, 28435. Following the service, Martha will be laid to rest at Moore's Creek Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Currie, NC.

Martha's life was one of love, faith, and devotion to her family. While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her enduring legacy, knowing that she will forever be in our hearts.
