Deacon Malachi Jordan transitioned from earth to Glory on Thursday, May 23, 2013 in Wilmington, North Carolina at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
Malachi Jordan was the fourth child of the late Richard Thomas and Mable Alice Jordan. He was born June 28, 1923 in Pender County.
He was educated in the Pender County public schools and was valedictorian of his graduating class. After graduation he worked at the Navy yard in Norfolk, Virginia where he learned to build houses. After relocating in Burgaw, Malachi worked at the Marine Base in Jacksonville, NC.
Deacon Jordan was saved and baptized at the tender age of seven. He joined Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until his illness which was only a few weeks ago. He served in his church as a Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, a Bible teacher, a Deacon and Chairman of the Deacon Board, and a trustee.

Viewing will be 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Dunn Funeral Home. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Burgaw Cemetery.
