Obituary
Major Roger Anthony Simmonds, age 72, of Burgaw, N.C. passed away on January 8, 2018. He is a former resident of Jacksonville, N.C. and served 15 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Major Simmonds was later employed with the District Attorney's Office in Wilmington, N.C. and retired after 22 years in 2013. He is married for 49 years to Mrs. Helen Buckman Simmonds.
A public viewing for relatives and friends will be 4:00pm to 6:00pm Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Dunn Funeral Home, Burgaw, N.C.
The funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, Burgaw, N.C. Inurnment with full military honors will be 12 noon Friday, January 19, 2018 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, N.C.
In Lieu of flowers, that family encourages donations to be made to one of the following organizations: Disabled Veterans or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
