Unexpectedly, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, Almighty God gently closed the eyes of Mr. Mack Winford Murphy, Jr. at the Veterans Administrative Medical Center, Fayetteville.
Mr. Murphy born on September 4, 1946 in Sampson County to Rev. Mack W. Murphy, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Corbett Murphy. He joined the Marines after graduating High School, and served in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, his most rewarding job was at the Philadelphia Department of Corrections. It was there he became a member of the bowling league and was known for being a champion bowler.

The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Ivanhoe. Burial will be in the Royal Chapel Church cemetery.
