Mrs. Lois Novella Hand Crews, 84, of Burgaw, transcended peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Crews was born on July 28, 1928 in Pender County to the late Willie P. Hand and Mattie Bannerman Hand. She was a graduate of C.F. Pope High School, Fayetteville State University, and North Carolina Central University. She was an elementary school teacher and educator for many years. At an early age, she was baptized and became a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir, trustee board, and was very supportive in attendance and giving.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

The visitation will be 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Dunn Funeral Home. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Burgaw Cemetery.
