Reverend John Harvey Smith , age 97, of Burgaw, peacefully laid down the burdens of this life and picked up eternity, receiving the long white robe he so often preached about on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 while in the comfort of his residence.

A Homegoing Celebration will convene at 1:00p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at St. John United Holy Church - 706 W Fremont St Burgaw, NC 28425. Interment will immediately follow in the Burgaw Cemetery located in Burgaw, North Carolina.

Public Viewing & Visitation for relatives and friends will be held 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at The Chapel of Dunn Funeral Home - 810 W. Wilmington St. Burgaw, NC 28425.
