With profound love and heartfelt remembrance, the family of Mr. James Carol Pickett, age 80, of Chinquapin, North Carolina, announces his peaceful passing on July 2, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family at WakeMed Raleigh.

A man of timeless style and unwavering devotion, Mr. Pickett will be remembered for his deep love of classic cars, distinctive fashion sense, and his lifelong commitment to family. He was the proud father of Angelica Pickett Smith and Mekiva Natasha Pickett, and shared a continued bond of care and respect with his former wife, Evett Batts Pickett. His memory also lives on through his cherished granddaughter, Makayla Anjeleek Martin, along with a host of loving family members and dear friends.

A Homegoing Celebration honoring Mr. Pickett's life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Missionary Baptist Church, 3882 S NC Hwy 50, Chinquapin, NC 28521.

A public visitation will be observed on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, 810 W Wilmington Street, Burgaw, NC 28425.

Following the service, interment rites will take place at St. Lewis Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Chinquapin, NC 28521.
