Mr. James Edgar Newkirk, age 88 of Watha peacefully transitioned from into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Lower Cape Fer Life Care Center Wilmington, NC. He is the husband of Mrs. Mattie Bannerman Newkirk.

Celebration of life service will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel 810 West Wilmington Street Burgaw, NC. Interment will follow in the Watha Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Viewing for relatives and friends will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, August 14, 2023 at Dunn Funeral Home 810 West Wilmington Street Burgaw, NC 28425.
