Mrs. Hollice Herring Pridgen, age 74, of Ivanhoe, North Carolina, transitioned peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC surrounded by love.
Hollice was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Born and raised in Ivanhoe, she was known for her respectful demeanor, soft-spoken voice, and a radiant smile that could light up any room. Hollice had a true servant's heart — always feeding others, offering words of encouragement, and welcoming all with warmth and grace. She carried a strong and steady spirit, and to know her was truly to love her.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Yolanda Anese Pridgen; her cherished grandchildren, Shadavia Lanese Pridgen-Boddie and Trevon Pridgen; and her precious great-grandson, David Khristian Pridgen. Also left to treasure her memory are her siblings: Robert Herring, Joyce Herring Carr, Samuel Herring, James Tate Herring, Thomas Herring, Lloyd Herring, Bernita Becton Herring, and Hilda Herring Draughon; along with a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Homegoing Celebration honoring Hollice's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, located at 9364 Wildcat Road, Ivanhoe, NC 28447.
Public viewing will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at the church.
Following the service, interment will take place at Moores Swamp A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 1327 Barnhill Blueberry Lane, Ivanhoe, NC 28447.
The family will be receiving guests at Mrs. Hollice's home beginning Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 7:00 PM daily.
Mrs. Hollice Herring Pridgen's legacy of kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
