We sadly announce the passing of Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth English, age 101, who peacefully departed this life on June 26, 2025, at Wallace Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Wallace, NC.

She was the beloved wife of the late Carl Jackson "Mack" English and leaves behind a legacy of love and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra English Davis (Frederick Lee Davis); granddaughter, LaToria Alexandria McRae (Antony LeVarl McRae); great-grandchildren: Antony JaShaun McRae, Leah Renee McRae, Kenriel Caldrick Graham Walker, DJ Floyd McRae, King-Princeton McRae, and Saint-Khristian McRae; and great-great-granddaughter Ny'Asia McRae.

She also leaves behind her special cousin Ella Lavonne Murphy, three nieces, one nephew, and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Newkirk Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2990 Willard Road, Wallace, NC 28466.

A public visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Interment will follow at the African American Community Memorial Garden in Willard, North Carolina.
