It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Edward Leon Hairston, age 63, of Hampstead, NC, on January 12, 2025. Edward departed this world peacefully at his home, with his loving wife Deidra Hairston by his side.

Edward was a beloved member of the community, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. His laughter, kindness, and strength will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and acquaintances.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on January 16, 2025, at Union Bethel A.M.E. Church, located at 20676 U.S. Highway 17 N, Hampstead, NC. There will be no public visitation.

Burial will follow the service at Coastal Carolina State Cemetery, Jacksonville, NC, at 2:00 PM.
