Earlon Odell Munn, affectionately known as Buckskin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his residence on Point Caswell Road in Atkinson, North Carolina. Born on August 3, 1943, Earlon was a man whose life was deeply intertwined with his family, his craft, and his community.

A master mechanic by trade, Earlon possessed an extraordinary talent for fixing and working on cars, a skill he perfected through self-teaching. His dedication to his craft led him to own and operate his own garage in New York for over 30 years, where his expertise earned him the respect and trust of many. Locally, in the area he fondly referred to as "the country," Earlon was the go-to mechanic for those seeking reliable and skillful service. His passion extended beyond repair work; building and racing cars was his favorite pastime, a testament to his ingenuity and zeal.

Earlon was the beloved father of Arleathia Knox-Millard Allen and Jeremiah Robinson. His love and care extended to his goddaughter, Zyiah Williams, who will cherish his memory deeply. Earlon was also a devoted brother to Betty Munn Kea, Carolyn Munn, Jo-Ann Munn Graham, Bernadine Munn, Cindy Munn Corbett, and Amanda Graham, as well as to his brothers Raeford Munn, Bobby Munn, and George Graham. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, including a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were fortunate to be touched by his generosity and spirit.

A homegoing service to honor and celebrate Earlon Odell Munn’s life will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Lakes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 10420 Point Caswell Road, Willard, NC 28478. The service will be followed by interment at the Lakes Chapel Cemetery Halfway Branch Road, Atkinson, NC.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects during a walk-through viewing on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, 810 West Wilmington Street, Burgaw, North Carolina.
