Charlian, a beloved soul, entered this world on August 24, 1948, in the warm embrace of Currie, North Carolina. She brought light and laughter wherever she went, with a personality that radiated great energy and a heart of gold. On January 3, 2026, Charlian departed from this life at her residence, leaving behind a myriad of cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Charlian was a devoted wife to Lenwood Lewis, with whom she shared countless adventures and created a loving home filled with joy. She is survived by her husband, as well as her beloved sisters and brothers, who will carry forward the laughter and stories that Charlian imparted. Her family extends to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life, providing her with endless joy and pride. In addition, she leaves a host of relatives and friends whose lives have been touched by her kindness and warmth.
Charlian had an insatiable curiosity about the world, which fueled her passions for crossword puzzles, traveling, and cooking. Each new crossword challenge was a way for her to engage her mind and share her love of words with others. Her travels took her to places unknown, but it was always the experiences shared with family and friends that mattered most. In the kitchen, she was a master chef, conjuring up delicious meals that became the centerpiece of many family gatherings and celebrations.
Her spirit will be celebrated during a viewing on January 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 12:00 PM at Moores Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Currie, NC.
The family kindly requests that floral arrangements be in coordination with a red and white color scheme to honor Charlian’s vibrant spirit.
As we mourn the loss of Charlian, we also come together to celebrate the incredible woman she was. Her love for her family, her zest for life, and her generous heart will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
