Carrie Mae Amos, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the Capital Health Regional Fuld Campus in Trenton, NJ. She was born on February 22, 1947, in Pender County, NC, where her roots ran deep, reflecting the warmth and nurturing spirit that defined her life.
Carrie dedicated a significant part of her career to the Board of Education, embodying a commitment to fostering education and community spirit. Known for her lively personality, she was a big talker who could light up a room with her infectious laughter and engaging stories. Her passion for cooking truly shone through in her kitchen, where she created meals that brought family and friends together. Each dish was a testament to her love, often encouraging everyone to linger longer around the table, savoring both the food and the cherished company.
In her leisure time, Carrie found joy in gardening, seeing each bloom as a reflection of her caring nature. She delighted in puzzles, often finding that they mirrored the complexities of her own life, solving each one with patience and determination. Bingo nights, filled with laughter and excitement, were a frequent highlight, and her competitive spirit made every game an unforgettable experience.
Carrie leaves behind her loving husband, Richard Amos, alongside her cherished sons, Martes Amos and Yusef Chrisitie, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. Her siblings, Gloria King, Wanda Johnson, Daniel Batts, Ricky Howard, and Reginald Howard, along with many other relatives and friends, will forever hold fond memories of her vibrant presence.
