With profound sorrow and heartfelt reverence, we commemorate the life of Cajita G. Clarida, who departed this earthly realm on June 9, 2026, at her cherished residence. Born on March 2, 1975, in the welcoming environs of New Hanover County, Cajita's journey was one marked by devotion, vibrant spirit, and endless love for her community and family.

Cajita was a beacon of faith and charity, a God-fearing woman whose heart was perpetually open to serving others. Her commitment to worship and benevolence was a defining testament to her character, as she freely offered her time and spirit to uplift those around her. Possessing a remarkable vivacity, she was endearingly known as a social butterfly; though modest of stature, her presence commanded the room with a grace and strength that belied her height. Her charm and wit, along with her distinctive individuality, left an indelible impression on all who were fortunate to know her.

Cajita is mourned by her beloved husband, Johnnie Clarida, a steadfast partner who stood by her side in life's journey. Her loving mother, Helen L. Smith, remains a pillar of solace amidst the loss. The light of her legacy shines brightly through her children—Jelonnie, Johnniese, and Jordyn—who carry forward her values and spirit. Additionally, Cajita’s extended family includes her cherished bonus children: Lekiesha, Christopher, and Ella, who benefited from her nurturing presence. Her siblings—Geraldo, Shaunte', Lonnie, Krystal, Vicarra, Demontez, Jeffrey, and April—stand together in mourning, united by shared memories and the bonds of family. Alongside them resides a host of special family members and friends who hold her dearly in their hearts.

In tribute to her extraordinary life, a Homegoing Celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Macedonia F.B.H. Church, located at 1103 South 5th Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28401. Following the service, burial will take place in the Evans Family Cemetery in Bolivia. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects through a viewing immediately following the service, as you exit the sanctuary.

Cajita G. Clarida’s essence, characterized by her faith, vivacious charm, and deep familial devotion, will forever illuminate the hearts of all who knew her. Her presence, vast as it was heartfelt, remains an enduring testament to a life well-lived and a spirit truly exalted.

In honoring her memory, the family expresses their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this poignant time, embracing the colors of burgundy, white, and cream as a symbol of the grace and warmth she bestowed upon those fortunate enough to call her friend and kin.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed.
