With deep love and gentle remembrance, we announce the passing of Ms. Bonnie Felicia Watkins Burgess, age 65, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, who departed this life peacefully at her residence on June 30, 2025.

Bonnie was a devoted mother, cherished daughter, and beloved sister whose presence brought warmth and strength to all who knew her. She leaves behind her loving son, James Anthony Burgess, Jr., who will forever hold her memory in his heart. She was the treasured daughter of Ms. Devola Early and the late Solomon Watkins.

Bonnie's vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by her brothers, Kittrell Early and Tracy Boone; her sister, Sandra Coakley; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Her kindness, unwavering love, and enduring faith touched countless lives.

A Celebration of Life honoring Ms. Burgess will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lee's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 7501 North Carolina Highway 50, Maple Hill, NC 28454. She will be laid to rest following the service at Lee Cemetery, Maple Hill, North Carolina.

Though Bonnie has journeyed on, her legacy of love, grace, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
