Mrs. Bessie Adelane Fennell of the Harrison Creek Community, departed this life 7:00 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Northchase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Fennell was born on July 1, 1926 in Duplin County to the late Arie and Cliff Marshall. She received her formative education in the Public Schools of Pender County. Following high school, she moved to New York where she resided, prior to moving to Philadelphia. She was united in holy matrimony to Teamus Fennell and to this union four children were born.

Mrs. Fennell became affiliated with Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church as a young adult. She served in whatever capacity she was needed even after relocating back to the community and to the Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

The funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2013 at Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church in the Harrison Creek Community. Viewing for relatives and friends will be one hour prior to the funeral service. There will be no viewing on Thursday, June 6. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
