Mr. Bennie Frank Herring, age 81, of the Atkinson Community, entered a world of eternal peace, free from pain on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at his residence.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Thompson Herring; his children, Karen "Lynn" Herring and Brian "Frankie" Herring; grandchildren, Rasjiem Herring (Cortnie), Mitchetta Murphy, and Paris Wooten; great-grandchildren, Ty'Shon Herring, Ta'Kari Herring, Russell Wilson, and Coral Graham; siblings, Janice Waddell (Norva), Cheryl Davis, Yolanda Johnson, Julius Hayes (Monique), and Ivy Hayes; and a host of loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Lakes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 10420 Point Caswell Road, Willard, NC 28478.

A viewing for relatives and friends will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, during the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 PM at Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, 810 West Wilmington Street, Burgaw, NC 28425.

Bennie Frank was a vibrant and upbeat soul who cherished time spent with his family and friends. He found great joy in cutting grass, farming, and savoring his favorite meals—especially fish and boiled peanuts. Known for his humor and occasional colorful language, he brought laughter and light to those around him.

The family requests potted plants in place of standing sprays, so they may be nurtured and cherished in his memory.
