Annie Laura embodied love in its purest form.
With grace and reverence, we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Annie Laura Henry, a cherished soul whose legacy of love, devotion, and gentle strength spans generations. Born on May 3, 1933, in the warm embrace of Pender County, Annie Laura’s journey was marked by faith, kindness, and an abiding commitment to family and community. She departed this life on June 18, 2026, in Currie, North Carolina, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a legacy that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Known affectionately as Mother Henry, Annie Laura embodied love in its purest form. Her nurturing spirit touched all who crossed her path, offering comfort, wisdom, and quiet acts of generosity. Central to her life was her faith; she found great solace and inspiration in the pages of her Bible, endeavoring always to live by its word. The rhythm of her days began with a good cup of coffee, a simple pleasure she savored before greeting the world with her trademark warmth.
Her joys extended to the comforts of home, where the melodies of gospel music would often fill the air, and moments of tranquil reflection were spent watching Wheel of Fortune or enjoying a peaceful fishing trip. Yet, it was in the presence of her beloved grandchildren that Annie Laura shone most brightly. Each grandchild, unique in their own right, knew the distinctive delight of being doted upon—no two ever spoiled alike, for her love tailored itself to each heart she held dear.
