It is with profound love and heartfelt care that we honor the life of Mr. Alonza Roderick Armstrong, affectionately known as "Zo." Born on March 11, 1959, in Pender County, North Carolina, Alonza was a man whose passion and dedication touched all who knew him. He devoted much of his life to his career as a passionate mechanic, a craft he held close to his heart and through which he made a lasting impact.
Alonza peacefully passed away on April 26, 2026, at his residence, leaving behind cherished memories and an enduring legacy. His journey in this world was marked not only by his professional commitment but also by the deep bonds he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved children, Nikitia Nixon and Carlos Nixon, who continue to carry forward his spirit and values. He also leaves behind treasured grandchildren, his brothers and sister, nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, along with a host of relatives and friends who were privileged to know him. Their love and support remain a testament to the impact Alonza had on their lives.
Family, friends, and all who admired Alonza are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on May 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, located at 22071 NC-210, Rocky Point, North Carolina 28457. Following this, a funeral service will be held at the same location from 1:00 PM, where stories, prayers, and reflections will celebrate Alonza’s remarkable life.
The burial will take place at Williams Armstrong Cemetery, where Alonza will rest peacefully, surrounded by the memories and love of those who knew him best.
Alonza Roderick Armstrong’s life was a beautiful mosaic of hard work, love, and devotion. It is with deep reverence and tenderness that we remember him, keeping his memory alive in our hearts with the utmost respect and care.
