Mrs. Alicia Valeria Harper Washington , affectionately known as "Val", age 54, of Ivanhoe, quietly placed her hands in the Master's hand and received eternity on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 while in Harrells, North Carolina. Mrs. Washington is the mother of LaKeshia Hicks, Andre Pridgen and Russell Washington; daughter of Mrs. Mable Newkirk Harper; and sister of Kathy Harper Robinson, Janine Harper Jessup and Tashitia Corbett Williams.

A Homegoing Celebration will convene at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church - 9364 Wildcat Road Ivanhoe, NC 28447. Interment will immediately follow in the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery located in Ivanhoe, NC.

Public Viewing for relatives and friends will take place 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023 at The Chapel of Dunn Funeral Home - 810 W. Wilmington St. Burgaw, NC 28425.
