Deacon Alfred Shiver, 91, of Little Kelly community, Rocky Point, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Wilmington.

Deacon Shiver was born on September 6, 1921 to the late Henry and Rena Washington Shiver. He was a member of Hills Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized at the age of seventy-five, but later joined Mount Moriah United Holy Church where he was ordained a Deacon.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Dunn Funeral Home, Burgaw. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Hill Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Rocky Point. Burial will be in the Hill Chapel Church Cemetery.
